May 7, 2001

A Palestinian Baby Infant (4-Month-Old) was killed and dozens of other Palestinians were injured by Israeli fire in Gaza and the West Bank after Israel rejected American ideas for ending seven months of violence.

Medical officials said the four-month-old Palestinian girl, Iman Hajo, died as Israeli forces shelled Khan Younis town and refugee camp in the southern Gaza Strip.

"Shrapnel went into her abdomen and came out of her back," a doctor at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis said.

The baby's mother Suzanne Hajo, was seriously wounded when Israel destroyed their house in the attack, which also resulted in 24 more injuries.

While pregnant woman Iman Sahlol (22), miscarried as a result of the shelling.
