Israeli Attacks and Acts of
Violence on Medical Staff, Patients & Palestinians in Violation of Geneva
Human Rights Convention
- The Breaking of the glass of car No: 1443,
beating its driver while on his way to Taulkarem.
- UNRWA vehicle No: 8521922 loaded with
medicines & disposables was forced to go back at Dir – Sharaf cross
road, with its driver Khamis AL – Hwaidi. During the return trip of the
same vehicle and the same driver, the car was exposed to shooting, the
driver was beaten and the intended trip to Jerusalem was not continued. The
UNRWA International Head office reported this act of aggression to the
police authority.
- The medical staff heading to Jericho Hospital
for injury’s rescue were exposed to Israeli humiliation and attacks. They
were prevented from accomplishing their mission despite the contacts with
all those concerned.
- On 11/10/2000: Mohamad Issa Qasem’s car (55,
Bittin) was stoned by the settlers. His car went upside down on the road,
his case is critical, and the injury is in the chest.
- On 15/10/2000: the Oxygen vehicle heading to
hospitals was stopped at Huwwarah village. The driver is Wasef Burwajeh
4609192.
- Injured Youseh Naser (40), who was injured by
a bullet in the chest, was arrested at Jericho main entrance on 21/10/2000.
- Injured Asharf Mahmoud Zalloum, Hebron, was
prevented from travelling to Arab countries to continue his medication under
the pretext of security rejection.
- Injured Shadi AL–Amoudi–Nablus was also
prevented from travelling to Arab countries to continue his medication under
the pretext of security rejection.
- 25/10/2000: Ahmad Abdul Qader Sbeitan (62),
who suffers from a heart disease, died on his way from Hebron to Ramallah
Hospital. The ambulance conveying him was prevented from reaching Ramallah.
- 9/10/2000: Ms. Ibtisam Mahmoud Nimir Shaban
(31) of Marj- Na’jeh, was denied arrival to a maternity hospital, she
delivered her baby on the Israeli checkpoint on Jericho’s Northern
entrance.
- 9/10/2000: fire was shot on employee Mousa
Hirzallah of Augusta Victoria Hospital from the settlers. Two live bullets
went through his shoulder.
- 30/10/2000: Ms. Samaher Bassam AL-Zubeidat
(22) was prevented from reaching a maternity hospital. She delivered her
baby on the Israeli checkpoint. Moreover, the driver who conveyed the lady
had his I.D. card preserved by the I.D.F.
- 30/10/2000: Jericho hospital received
excessive shells of shooting: The solar system was damaged, and still, there
are marks of the bullets left on the building.
- 1/11/2000: again, Jericho hospital was bombed
on 11:00 p.m.æ the male section was vacated, no Injuries were reported.
- The following Palestinians , who received
treatment abroad were stopped for investigation for more than 4 hours:
- Badr Eddin Yousef Hamad.
- Naser Eddin Omar.
- Qusama Mohammed Eliwi.
- Lu’ai Ibrahim Mreish.
- Mohammad Ahamd Khader Al- Jabali.
- 8/11/2000: Alia Hospital – Hebron was
bombed. The Eastern ward window’s glass was broken. Some patients, among
them Mr.Murad Masalmeh (23) were injured. We had to vacate the Ward.
- 9/11/2000: Military Medical Services vehicle
was shot at, it was carrying doctors and nurses:-
Dr. Nidal Salameh: Hospital Admission.

- Jericho Hospital was bombed, the result was
damage to the hospital’s front side.
- Mrs. Taghrid Khairi AL-Syouri, wife of
Mahamoud Sayyed Ahmad (Dora- Hebron) delivered her baby at Simiramis
Barrier, inside the car, then headed to Jerusalem Hospital, carrying her
newborn with the umbilical cord still not cut.
- 14/11/2000: Mrs. Khitam Mahmoud Hussein (18)
from Fasayel was stopped at Jericho’s northern barrier for one hour while
in labour. Her I.D cards were taken from both her, and her husband. They
gave her husband two hours notice to go back or else he we’ll never get
their I.D’s back.
- Injured Suliman Amer was prevented from
travelling to Arab Countries for medication under the pretext of security
rejection.
- A group of settlers and Arabized jews broke
into Hossan Village shooting randomly any moving object in the village, (
according to an eye witness) (14) people were injured, (3) of which are
critical cases. The ambulance was denied entry for sometime, after which 6
of them were moved to AL- Yamama Hospital, 8 to Beit Jala Hospital. Two
critical cases were trsferred to AL- Maqassed.
- A Ford bus At AL Ram area was exposed to fire
shooting; Citizen Inam Damon (27) was injured and transferred to Ramallah
Hospital.
- Ambulance carrying a patient from Taulkarem
Hospital to Nablus Hospital was stopped at the Barrier and denied access to
Nablus. An Ambulance from Rafidya Hospital was dispatched to fetch the
patient. However, this is the second incidence of its kind. Also, patient
Hussein Khalil Atiyyat was arrested half through his way to Jericho Hospital
where he was transferred.
- Injured Mohamad Nada (17) was prevented from
travelling to Jordan because his father was wanted, as his father claimed.
- Random shooting on an ambulance which was
returning to Taulkarm after conveying injured Amjad Ahmad Fares Odeh to
Rafidya Hospital.
- A Red Crescent vehicle of Arrabeh & Jenin
centers was shot at resulting in the injury of Aid officers: Jihad Ayyad and
Mahmoud Ba’jawis.
